Hi everyone,

I’m currently using the legacy endpoint
legacy/email-analytics-v1/events/get-email-public-v1-events
to fetch email engagement events such as **OPEN** , **CLICK** , etc.

I’m exploring whether there is a **webhook-based solution** in HubSpot to receive these email events in real time, instead of polling the legacy API.

From the Webhooks documentation, I could only find references to hs\_email\_status, which appears to cover limited state changes (e.g., SENT, DELIVERED) and does **not** include granular engagement events like **OPEN** or **CLICK** , which are available via the legacy email events API.

My questions are:

1. Is there any supported webhook/event subscription in HubSpot today that provides real-time **email engagement events** (OPEN, CLICK, BOUNCE, etc.)?
2. If not, what is the recommended or commonly adopted approach to replace or complement the legacy email events API?
3. Has anyone faced a similar limitation, and what solution did you go with?

Hi @AShah771 👋

Thanks for laying this out so clearly — moving from polling legacy email events to something real-time is a common need.

I’d like to invite a few Community members who are subject matter experts in HubSpot webhooks and email analytics to join this conversation.
@RubenBurdin @BrandonWoodruff @GRajput — hope you’re all having a great week! Do you know if HubSpot currently supports webhook subscriptions for granular email engagement events like **OPEN/CLICK/BOUNCE** , or is hs\_email\_status the only supported option today? And if there isn’t a direct replacement, what patterns have you seen teams use to handle this (without relying solely on polling the legacy endpoint)?

Really appreciate any guidance you can share.
Best,
Victor

Hey @[AShah771 ,](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/1024673)

To my knowledge, HubSpot does not currently offer a webhook subscription that delivers real-time email engagement events like OPEN or CLICK.

Hey @AShah771 Thanks for posting!

Kosala is correct that there’s no HubSpot webhook that natively pushes granular marketing email events (OPEN/CLICK/BOUNCE, etc.) in real time; in practice, the recommended pattern is to keep using the Email Events API as the source of truth and poll it on a short interval, then fan those events out from your own service (e.g., as internal webhooks or messages). For narrower cases you can also use marketing workflows with a “Send a webhook” action on email open/click triggers, and, if you only need coarse signals, subscribe via the Webhooks API to contact property changes (like last open/click or opt-out) as a “something changed, go refresh from events” hint.
