Email CTA smart rules copy and output

1. Can CTAs be output in HTML instead of as images? It would be better for clients that block images and also could be made responsive.

2. If the answer to that is ‘no’ -- then what is the best way to include extra copy to go along with the Smart Rule CTAs?

For example, we have 3 segments, one is a “Blue” segment, another is a “Red” segment.

We want the CTAs to have more unique copy than just what’s contained in the button.

e.g., For Blue segment: “You’re looking awfully blue today.” [Button: “Get happy with Us”]

For Red segment: “Wow, you’re bright and red today.” [Button: “Cool off with Us”]

We need more than just the button copy itself to change based on the audience.

Thanks for any help

Hi @sbroways

I would advise against using CTAs in emails. There use turns the content into an image, as you say, and obfuscates performance data unnecessarily - all links in emails are tracked automatically, so you don’t need a CTA to measure performance.

Instead, I would recommend making the whole email smart and personalising the entire body based on your segmentation.

Hope that helps.

Hey, thanks! I will give it a try. I think that makes sense.

Worked perfectly.

Thanks!
