Hello fellow Hubspotters!

Perhaps you can help. I’ve got a button that opens an email and I would like that email to have a pre-configured subject line.

Does anyone know if that’s possible with HS and if so how is it done??

Many, many thanks,

Alexei

Hi @Alexei,

You can use a tool like this one to generate such a link: [Mailto Link Generator | Generate Custom Email Links | Customer.io](https://parcel.io/tools/mailto)

Depending on which HubSpot tool specifically you’re using, HubSpot might not accept this link however. For example, the mailto link option for CTAs in emails does not accept parameters as an input. A hyperlink directly placed in the email body text however usually does. My tested method is updating the link the source code of the email:

 ![karstenkoehler_1-1669718923104.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/1X/dad7ab7aadb1b1f42bef82c6520a9ea03b685f26.png)

 ![karstenkoehler_2-1669718947291.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/b/bed10319f334993e9feee732330d904a779de3f9.png)

Fun fact: You can also use personalization tokens in the mailto link generator which HubSpot will resolve into actual text when the email is sent. To do so, the syntax for a personalization token is {{ object.internalpropertylabel }}, e.g. {{ contact.company }} would add the company name of the contact.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Thanks for that. We’ve used personalization in the subject line sends (which we like). I’m a little surprised HS doesn’t have a built-in feature that does what Parcel does.

While I’ve got you here! Is there any HS calendar management tool I can include in an invite which allows people to easily add an event to their Outlook calendars?

Hi @Alexei,

Sure, happy to help! Again not natively in HubSpot, but easily created here: [Add to Calendar Link Generator | Google Calendar, Outlook, iCal](https://www.labnol.org/calendar/)

If my two replies helped you, please mark them as accepted solutions. It helps me but more importantly other community users to find this information more easily.

Have a great day!

Hi Karsten - Thank you for the Parcel suggestion. Do you know if those links ever expire? Example: after a set timeframe or after “x” clicks?
