Hi there, is there anyway to manually mark a contact in Hubspot as bounced? I recently sent an invite via a sequence and got a few bounce back emails. These contacts have not been marked as bounced in Hubspot and will receive the next task/email as part of the sequence.
Hi @JGrek,
What kind of bounce was it exactly?
There is no feature to mark a record as bounced manually, no, you could how unsubscribe the contact from receiving emails: Unsubscribe an individual contact from receiving all email
Best regards
Hi @karstenkoehler , thank you for getting back to me. It is a hard bounce, I was hoping there was a way to avoid opting them out. I would like to go back into the contact and research/find the correct email. Thanks though!
@JGrek you could still do that – the unsubscribe status affects the email address, not the contact record. Once you update the email address, you should see that they unsubscribe relates to their previous address. In other words, if you want to avoid further harm to your sender reputation and still have the option to do research on the contact, unsuscribe and potentially flag them with a custom property to easily be able to identify them. After doing some research and updating the email address, clear the custom property. Hope this helps!
Yes thank you!
From what I know, you can’t manually mark bounced contacts, but you can unsubscribe them. Any chance this was a soft bounce, i.e. temprorary?
