Does anyone know how to successfully download a quote as a Word doc and retain the formatting? I’m able to download a quote as a PDF and open that file as a Word doc, but our quote templates are written in HTML so when I open the PDF as a Word doc, it looks all wonky and the formatting is wrong. Any help is appreciated!
@peytondonnell This function is currently not possible natively. My best recommendation would be a PDF Converter into a Word Doc, that may help but I’m not sure if it will retain the HTML rendering.
I totally get your frustration with the wonky formatting when opening a PDF as a Word doc. Have you heard of this nifty tool called Freely docs? It’s pretty awesome because it can help you convert PDFs to Word docs while maintaining the original formatting. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.
Hi
I don’t know your mentioned app. But to create a Word document directly out of HubSpot, you use best ChiliDocs. You can create as much Word template as needed and create your docs directly out from any standard object, like company, contact, deal or ticket. Associated custom objects are possible also. Even images or tables from associated datas like line items for quotes are included. Try it out >
Message from 2025, still we need a word pdf to do some tweaks before sending the client, since it will be a part of contract on contract management stage , it is always nice to have it as word .. Any native solution
Hi there @SKarakaya
HubSpot still doesn’t have a native solution for exporting quotes as Word documents as of 2025. The platform continues to only support PDF exports for quotes.
While we wait for this feature to be developed, I’d encourage you to upvote the existing idea in the HubSpot Ideas Forum
This helps the product team understand the use case and allows other users to vote, which really helps with prioritization. The more votes and comments this idea receives, the better chance it has of being implemented.
In the meantime, the current workarounds remain:
- Exporting as PDF and converting to Word (though formatting issues persist)
- Optimizing your HTML quote templates for better PDF-to-Word conversion
- Considering third-party integrations that might offer better document export options
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
Thanks!
Victor
html to word converter can be a good option, if it can be added inside the workflow within HubSpot ecosystem, we can send word quote to deal owner directly. Whey HubSpot team insist on html as quote format .. many B2B work lesss quote and editable vs.
Hi @SKarakaya
Have a look at our ChiliDocs App in the HubSpot Marketplace. It quite easy to generate a Word template and use it in HubSpot to generate a Word or PDF out from any data object, like contacts, companies, deals, tickets and all associated objects. End of this week it also we be supported in Workflows to generate and send documents automatically. Let me know, what you think.
