In this post, I am going to teach you how to download and store your HubSpot 2FA backup recovery codes. This is an important step in securing your account and its data. Learning how to do this will increase your account security. Unfortunately, many users will not take a few minutes to learn these steps and protect themselves.

But never fear! I am going to show you how to download your codes and share some thoughts on how to safely store them.
One - Download
Download and store your backup codes so you can restore access to your account. If you’ve already set up 2FA you can access your codes from Settings>Security>View Backup Codes. From here you can view, print, or generate new codes.
If you lose your phone or have it stolen by an otter 
, you’ll need your codes to restore access quickly to your account. A Super Admin cannot provide these codes or reset the number you used for 2FA.
Two - Print
This is where folks get into trouble, they either procrastinate or never do this part. Printing your codes is simple and powerful. It may seem old school, but having a physical copy stored in a safe location can mean the difference between being locked out for 24-48 hours or quickly getting up and running like the self-sufficient and responsible badass you already are.
Three - What the heck do I do with them now?
You’ve done the hard part and downloaded and printed your codes. But where do you keep them? Your paper copy should be stored with your other important documents. A folder in a locked drawer or fireproof file safe is a great place to start. For the digital copy, consider a thumb drive or password-protected folder on your computer. Having them and not storing them perfectly is 100% better than never printing and backing them up.
In the end, security is up to you. Neither your Super Admin nor HubSpot support can quickly get your access restored if you lose access to your 2FA device and do not save your backup codes. Consider this a gift to your future self and get it done today!
