Do all contacts have to have a company? My clients are just individuals

Hi,

I’ve started a new sales pipeline for my wedding clients. They are individuals and therefor don’t have a company associated to them. I can’t seem to create deals without first adding a company to their contact info but even when I try to add a generic placeholder like “N/A” just to fill the Company field, it is then not recognised and I still can’t create a deal for that individual.

Hi @vmacd

When creating a new deal, the company and contact properties are not mandatory by default. HubSpot asks those questions to streamline data entry and quality control, but they are optional. You should be able to create deals with either field empty.
