Hi,

Just like to know if there is a way in HubSpot to display properties from an associated object?

eg. In our Company object, we have added extra fields. Eg. “HeadLicense”.

So in my Contacts view, how can I display the Contacts--\>HeadLicense field/property value?

This is synonymous to DBMS foreign key object eg:

select

con.ContactId,

con.ContactName,

comp.HeadLicence

from Contact con

left join Company comp

on con.CompanyId = comp.CompanyId

Thank you

Hey @THa51,

There are a two ways to acheive this, I’ll list them below in order of my personal preference:

**1) Customise properties shown on the association card:** This would require you have Starter, Professional or Enterprise of any of the HubSpot products. Associated objects are shown on the right sidebar of the CRM. You are able to select the properties to surface on this card as outlined [here](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/select-properties-to-show-on-record-association-cards). Below is an example of what you can expect if you do this:

 ![Screenshot 2023-08-17 at 09.09.10.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/5/4/5493041aeb83caae48b7b51a913169f3f339b54d.png)

**2) Copy company property to contact property using workflow:** This option requires you to have at least Professional of any Marketing, Sales, Service or Operations Hub. Create a property on the contact object and create a company workflow to [copy the value](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/choose-your-workflow-actions#copy-property-value) of a specific property into the property of an associated contact. The workflow would look like this:

 ![Screenshot 2023-08-17 at 09.10.53.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/5/c/5c17291f79d969d0f7ca07b45c3963a7bb08fb43.png)

Also worth noting that the workflow can be setup for [re-enrollment](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/add-re-enrollment-triggers-to-a-workflow) so that anytime the licene changes at the Company level the object is re-enrolled.

I hope this helps.

Hi @THa51,

HubSpot just introduced a beta which allows you to create properties that pull from a field on an associated record: [Create sync properties that copy data to associated records](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/create-sync-properties-beta)

If you’re interested in a one-way display only, this can replace a potential workflow, also explained in the article.

Best regards!

**Edit** : The Association Property List card for the Record Middle Column is now live.

![editing contact properties.gif](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/e/3/e3cfbc4808895c37d3acf5097c874bf69f7549d5.gif)

Here’s an example of **showing contact and deal properties on a Company Record.**

Link to [KB article](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/object-settings/customize-the-middle-column-of-records) for how to customize your record middle column to add an Association Property List. [Link to rollout](https://app.hubspot.com/l/product-updates/live?update=13936260) with more details.

~~Hi, I’m from the HubSpot Product Team and we’re looking to solve for this problem in Q2 with cards you can add to your middle column of the record.~~

~~Right now, you can display a list of Company properties on a Company record in the middle column. Later this quarter, we hope to release a version that lets you show associated ata. For example, view Deal properties on the Company record.~~

~~Here’s the current state:~~

~~

 ![Screenshot 2024-04-11 at 3.42.31 PM.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/0/3/03ec61837bee3ab7ea7fb8883756e730473c3a03.png)
~~

~~A workaround for now could be to copy the fields onto the Company record, but that would hopefully be unnecessary and could be deleted once this upgrade is rolled out.~~

~~More details on how to add a Property List card to the Middle Column in this [Knowledge Base article](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/object-settings/customize-the-middle-column-of-records).~~

It would be very beneficial to being able to show properties without the workaround of creating a duplicate between different objects (also as this would reduce the usage of custom properties needed per object).
Especially in List views.
