Agree this should be configurable and ironically is shown on the settings screen as though you could click on it but HS in its infinite wisdom feels it must protect us from ourselves as it does with a lot of features. But we have onboarding sequences for new customers that even if they reply with a question or have a meeting booked related to their onboarding process, we still want them to get onboarding emails designed to help educate them on all of the features of our solution over time.
The workaround support suggests of using a workflow and marketing emails isn’t a good solution becuase:
1. Marketing emails are more likely to go into promotional inboxes or spam vs. sales emails that are sent from the user’s email.
2. Marketing emails don’t look legitimately personalized nor is there a way to personalize each send, both of which you can achieve with sales emails sent from a sequence.
The fact this has not been done makes sequences unusable. It is unbelievable this has not been actioned. Automated replies from out of office unenroll sequences if this is the case. I cannot do my job without this function.
@BButler8 , are you seeing unenrollment from auto replies. They are suppose to be filtered out. I would put in a support ticket.
But I too, want this to be an option instead of a mandatory.
I’d like to enroll CLIENTS in sequences, but we have other communication with them that seem to knock them out. I am still testing this. If it’s ONLY responses from a sequences email, that is helpful. I get we don’t want to make cold prospects dislike us. But it seems like default to unenroll, but perhaps allow turning off with a warning.
I agree that the Automation wrt to Unenrollment is a limiting feature and prevents the Sequence Tool for being used to help manage specific Customer based tasks. The sequence performance metrics would be perfect to show exactly where a Customer is in relation to Tasks completed and those yet to be delivered. There should be optional unenrollment automation not mandatory automation.
The setting in the Automation section of sequences to unenroll contacts if they reply to an email is a far reaching setting. Especially when it can’t be undone. If I have someone enrolled in a sequence for a free trial to receive daily tips & tricks, and they respond, “thank you for the info,” they just un-enrolled themselves from the rest of the helpful sequence.
Why would Hubspot make this a universal “always on” type of setting?
Because of the flaw where a response unenrolls someone from a sequence, I now have to add MailChimp to my tech stack. I am paying a pretty penny for Hubspot Service Professional and would like it to handle our service email needs.
I would also love to be able to toggle this on and off. Just because someone responds to an email does not mean they should be removed from the sequence entirely - in fact, we lose the connection between meetings booked and the particular sequence because the person is removed before they get to that step.
