You’ve definitely come to the right place. The HubSpot community is full of amazing, knowledgeable folks who are always willing to help and share insights. It’s a great way to learn, grow, and connect.
I’d also recommend checking out the Sprocketeer Slack community:
Join here
It’s a free Slack community full of HubSpot enthusiasts, users, and experts, and there are always great conversations happening around HubSpot tools and strategies. Plus, you’ll get support from people who are working through the same things you’re learning.
And I can’t echo @BérangèreL enough—HubSpot Academy is an awesome starting point!
Check out the Digital Marketing course
HubSpot’s free courses are an incredible resource, and this one gives you a solid foundation in digital marketing, which is great for beginners.
If you’re in a stage where you’re building experience, you might also be eligible for the HubSpot Internship Program!

It’s a perfect way to get hands-on experience while still learning!
And last but not least, I put together a HubSpot for Beginners course that walks through 30 short videos, covering the essentials of setting up a new HubSpot portal from scratch—ideal for new users!

Welcome to the Community @surya_k! Full agreement with @CHawkins here and the tips offered. Plus the resources from @BérangèreL. I’d add that as you find helpful folks, don’t be afraid to ask them if you could connect via DM to make more friends in this space. A lot of us are willing to grab a 15-30 minute meeting with folks new in the space to share knowledge and lift others up. Not everyone has the time, so don’t take it personally if they say no. But keep connecting with others and you’ll find your circle!
@surya_k sure! Other places to “cut your teeth” so-to-speak would be to find a small business or volunteer opportunity to practice what you learn from places like HubSpot Academy.
I’m also a fan of resources like Content Marketing Institute and creators like Chris Brogan, Ann Handley, Amber Naslund, and David Meerman Scott. Finding folks like that to learn from and derive inspiration from is important.
And there are LinkedIn Learning courses on marketing that are pretty up-to-date.
I started my career in digital marketing, I realized the best approach was to join a structured and practical program. The Digital Marketing Course from IIM SKILLS turned out to be the perfect choice. It offers one-on-one mentorship, a two-month internship, job placement support, and a globally recognized certification. The course covers everything from SEO and social media marketing to Google Ads, content strategy, and analytics. What I like most is its hands-on learning style, which helped me understand real-world marketing strategies and build a strong foundation to grow in the digital marketing field.
Absolutely! That’s one of the best things about the HubSpot Community. You can learn from other people’s experiences, ask questions, and often find practical solutions that you can apply right away.
Welcome, @surya_k! ![]()
If I were starting in digital marketing today, I’d focus less on trying to learn every tool and more on understanding how the pieces fit together.
Start by understanding the basics of:
- Who your target audience is
- How businesses attract visitors
- How content turns visitors into leads
- The role of SEO and social media
- How to measure whether your marketing is working
Once you have the fundamentals, pick one area that interests you most and go deeper. The fastest way to learn is to combine learning with practice—try creating a simple content plan, building a landing page, or analyzing a small campaign.
Start with three questions:
Who are you trying to reach? What problem are you helping them solve? And how will you know your marketing is working?
HubSpot’s guide on creating and editing buyer personas is a useful place to start.( Create and edit personas )
I’d also recommend bookmarking HubSpot’s Get Started section. It brings together guides for marketing, content, reporting, CRM, and other fundamentals in one place.
Once you understand those, you can gradually explore SEO, content, social media, email, paid advertising, and analytics.
Good luck with your journey
Thanks,
