If there was previously a value for a property, multi check box, the API result is returning “”. If there was never a value selected, the result is “NULL”. We need to understand exactly what/how the “unknown” value is stored so we can sync data correctly. The result with “” is not returning Null so no data can be connected with the API.

Hi @LCoker

This means an empty string and the length of an empty string is always 0. But if we talk about NULL then NULL means no value at all and the length of NULL is undefined. Now if we want to handle this type of situation then use the following statement to handle the NULL/UNDEFINED/EMPTY value of a variable:

```lia-code-sample
if(variable){
 //write your code here!
}
```

I hope this will help you out. Please mark it as **Solution Accepted and upvote** to help another Community member.

Hi @GRajput,

Thanks for this reponse. To confirm, the value of unselected check boxes = 0, not NULL?
