Demo Source Report

Hi there. Does anybody know how to create a Demo Report showing its source (whether it’s booked from a call, email, website, etc)?
Also, it is possible to create a report for the average number of touches per prospect to set a demo? This is for a SAAS company and they need this data for forecasting and predicting their sales process.
Really appreciate any help on this.

Hi @Mpearagon,

That depends on how you’re currently documenting demos – is it a specific form that contacts submit or do sales reps log a property for this?

In any case, you would navigate to Menu > Reports > Reports > Create custom report > Single object > Contacts. In the Filters, upper right, select a suitable timeframe for Create date (set it to “is known” for all-time) and add an additional filter for the submission of the form or the property mentioned above.

Click Hide filters, and click Add contact properties. Search for Original source (and the additional drilldown properties if you’re interested) and select it/them.

Now, switch to the Visualization tab, pick a fitting chart type (e.g. pie chart) and drag and drop Count of contacts and Original source into the displaying area.

That should do the trick. Let me know if this is what you’re looking for or if you get stuck at any stage.

Best regards!

@karstenkoehler Thank you for your response. This makes a lot of sense. At the moment, I can only see Demo as a “Meeting type” and I can’t use any property filter you mentioned above. I’ll take a look at the client’s process of booking demos and will do as you said. Thanks again.

Hi @Mpearagon,

Got it, I misunderstood what you were trying to achieve.

Navigate to Menu > Reports > Reports > Create custom report > Single object > Activities.

Set Filters to your desired timeframe and “Call and meeting type is any of Demo”. Under Data > Add Activity Property select Source. In the Visualization tab, drag and drop Source and Count of Activities into the Displaying area. Voilà!

Best regards!

Hi @karstenkoehler Your solutions seem great but I think there’s something about the client’s setup that’s making it difficult to achieve. I have followed your instructions but didn’t get the desired result. Anyway, will discuss this with the client and try your suggested solutions. Thanks so much.

Hi @Mpearagon,

Yes, this really comes down to the setup and customization: How are demos being logged? Let me know how you get on.

Best regards!

Hi @Mpearagon ,

Can you tell me a little more about the property you want to measure here for the demo report? How do you record if the contact has a demo booked? :slightly_smiling_face:

We would need to know a little more here to be able to know what data to pull into the report.
Regards.
