Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help with an issue that’s completely blocking my workflow. I’m getting the following error when trying to build my theme project:

`[ERROR] Unknown arguments: deleteTheme failed with the following error:[ERROR] There were errors building this component:- An error occurred while building project.Error: folder_metadata limit 4000 reached.`

I believe this is being caused by two CMS projects that have been stuck in a **“Latest build #6 — Preparing”** state for the past 5 months. They never completed or failed cleanly, and it seems these ghost builds are consuming entries against the folder\_metadata 4,000 limit, leaving me unable to upload or build anything new.

A few things worth noting:

- The stuck projects cannot be resolved from my end — there’s no way to force-delete or reset them through the UI
- The delete command also appears to be throwing an unknown arguments error, so I can’t clear them via CLI either
- This has been ongoing for 5 months with no change

Has anyone run into this before, or found a workaround? I suspect this needs HubSpot support to manually clear the stuck builds on the backend, but wanted to check if the community has seen a self-serve fix first.

Thanks in advance,

Parvind

Hi @Parvind and thanks for reaching out to the HubSpot Community!
Can you please try the following: Navigate to the project in HubSpot (Development \> project name \> Settings tab \> Delete).
So that I can investigate on this for you, can you please share the following with me **via DM** , the names of the two stuck projects and their build numbers.
Thanks so much and have a great day!

Hi @Parvind,

It looks like your stuck builds are consuming your folder\_metadata limit, which is why new builds cannot go through. Unfortunately, there isn’t a self-service way to force-delete these ghost projects via UI or CLI.

The safest path is to contact HubSpot Support, they can manually clear the stuck builds on the backend so you can continue uploading and building new projects.

You might also mention the error you’re seeing (deleteTheme unknown arguments) and the 5-month “preparing” state so they can prioritize the fix.

Tagging [@BérangèreL](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/230185) and @karstenkoehler for awareness, they may provide additional guidance or confirm this is the right support path.
