Deals - Original Source and Data to be populated from a specified Contact

Currently Deals will are not inheriting the Original Source Type and Data 1/2 from the first contact associated to the deal but rather the latest contact with earliest activity, that creates incorrect first touch attribution as in some cases we have contacts “living” in the database for a year or two that didn’t contribute to de the deal, but when associated with the deal they override the originating leads source data carried over on the deal.

I am proposing that we are given some control over the logic of this attribution. Some suggestions:

- Take original source and data 1/2 from the first contact associated with the deal;

- Take original source and data 1/2 from the contacts with specific association type.

Yes, I can’t believe this has been mentioned in 2022 and is not taken care of. It’s completely absurd that we have deals that had a correct original source, but then when we add a contact with an older create date, the original source changes. We should at least be able to lock the original traffic source to prevent this from happening.
