Deal Type | workflows

Hello everyone!
I would like to ask some of you for help in setting up a workflow. I would like to send an email to those who have placed their third order from our website. On hubspot I found the properties “Deal Type-New Business” however I think it only refers to new orders and the property “Existing business” in general to those who have already placed an order with us. Is there any way to target only those who have placed their third order from us? Thank you in advance,

Martina

Hi @MMorini7,

“Deal type” is not a property that is automatically maintained by HubSpot. For it to be populated, either users must fill it manually or you have already set up automation for this.

The trigger for your desired workflow depends on how exactly orders show up in HubSpot. Can you specify how this is happening? How is it integrated? How do you usually filter for orders?

Best regards

Hi @karstenkoehler thank you for your reply. I just discovered that as you suggested, there is an automation that set Deal type is New Business when "Number of Associated Deals is equal to 1 or is empty " probably in order to set a workflow that send an email on 3rd order I should use the same filter but with “Number of Associated Deals is equal to 3” right? thank you again,

Martina

Hi @MMorini7,

If deals correspond to orders then we’re on the right track, yes.

But not quite – not all deals are necessarily won deals. If that’s the case in your portal, then yes, the filter works. Can you please confirm?

Otherwise, if not all associated deals are closed orders, please let me know.

Hi @karstenkoehler , I didn’t mentioned that but yes, we need to also select closed won deals.

Thank you for your help!

Martina

Hi @MMorini7,

If you select “Number of associated deals is 3” AND “Deal status is closed won” that just means that one of the 3 deals must be closed won, not all three. Keep that in mind :slightly_smiling_face:

ok! And how I can be sure that all deals are closed won?

Thanks again!

Hi @MMorini7,

You’d have to work with a custom calculation property instead: Create calculation and rollup properties

Here are the settings:
