Deal Property - Alert for a change only

I am stuck - can anyone assist?

I would like to create an alert to email my colleague only when the value of an existing deal changes.

I have tried a few variations to the criteria in the workflow but Hubspot is sending an alert when a new deal is created as well as changed. I dont want these ones!

I only want to receive an email when the value of a deal is changed.

I have tried:

1) Amount updated in the last 24 hours

2) Amount was updated after Create Date

3) Amount updated in the last 1 Day and Create Date is more than 1 day ago

My third attempt was in the hope to not pick up the original deal value when it was created by the user but i cant seem to get it working.

Can anyone help me?

Hey @HVirciglio for property updates, you can do “property value is known”. Then set re-enrollment on that property being known. This will always enroll in a workflow once a new value is added to the property.

Hi Tom - you are a star, thanks for jumping on my post.

I am in fear of looking incredibly stupid on a message board but here goes - I have read a little about the reenrollment triggers, but whichever combination I try it still sends me an email when a new deal is created. (I deleted everything and started again, created the workflow - then a test deal, then changed the value of my test deal)

I’m clearly still missing the link on how this will work - see attached the combinations I tried, once im off with this i will use as a template for a number of other ‘change requests’ elsewhere so your help is greatly appreciated!

Never stupid at all! @HVirciglio I’m happy to help where I can.

The first screenshot looks fine, is this not triggering an email every time this updates for you right now? If so, what is it exactly you are seeing?
You could also try the new “event enrollment” option in workflows too, this would likely be much more suited for your needs. You can set the event to be “property is updated” and enroll every time your property “is known”
Something like this:

Hi @TomM2

So I’ve played with the event trigger, and its doing the same thing, in either trigger scenario I receive a notification to let me know the value of a deal has changed which is what i need, but unfortunately I am still receiving the notification for every new deal that’s created as well.

I assume this is because Hubspot is seeing the ‘first time’ any value is entered into the amount field as a change.

I really dont want to know everytime one of our sales team enters a new deal into hubspot, its just the swings that I need to monitor.

Eg our sales team have a meeting two weeks ago, we can see the live data in finance and then something changes - identifying where that change is would be easier if i had a notification showing me the value changes against the deals, thats what im looking and trying to nail down.

I’ve tried a few more different criteria filters but none of them remove the ‘new deal’ entered emails.

Ive tried a few more things - thought i had a eureka moment with a Create date more than 1 day ago and amount has been updated in the last 1 day (with renrollment boxes ticked) but that one doesnt do anything!

Any other ideas???

Hi @HVirciglio,

To make this work, you need a number property that keeps track of how many times a deal has been enrolled in the workflow. (This could be useful in its own right, to track how many times the field was changed.)

You would add your internal notification below action 3.

Best regards!
