Hi Product team,
I’d like to request an improvement to the deal-level MRR calculation when a deal contains recurring line items with a future start date.
Current behavior
At the moment, if a deal includes multiple recurring line items and one of them has a future start date, the deal MRR still adds all associated recurring line items immediately, even if one of them is not active yet.
Also, when that future start date is reached, the deal MRR is not automatically recalculated based on the activation of that line item.
Expected behavior
It would be very helpful if HubSpot could:
-
only include recurring line items that are currently active in the deal MRR
-
exclude recurring line items with a future start date from the MRR calculation until that date arrives
-
automatically recalculate the deal MRR and, if relevant, other related deal metrics once the line item becomes active
Use case
Example:
-
recurring line item 1: USD 500 per month, active now
-
recurring line item 2: USD 300 per month, starting in 12 months
In this scenario, the deal MRR should show USD 500 until the second line item start date is reached. From that moment onward, it should automatically update to USD 800.
Why this would be useful
This would allow teams to reflect only truly active recurring revenue at any given time and avoid discrepancies between what is charged today, what will be charged in the future, and the deal metrics shown in the CRM.
This would be especially helpful for sales, revenue operations, and forecasting teams that rely on MRR to represent only active committed revenue.
Thanks for considering this improvement.
