Deactivating 2 factor authentication?

We as a medium sized enterprise are confronted with a big problem concerning the new obligatory 2 factor authentication (“introduced” in a strange way or rather said “imposed”). Neither we can offer every employe a work cellphone for the authentication nor it’s possible to oblige them to use their private smartphone. What can HubSpot offer us as an alternativ?

Hi @SSerafin,

I understand your frustration.

While it’s frustrating, I’d recommend also looking at the reasons behind this: Without 2FA, an exposed password could be enough for someone to steal all of your CRM data.

In terms of solutions, there aren’t any inside of HubSpot. I see two options: ‘non-smart’ phones including SIM cards can be as cheap as $20. While the initial setup is probably a bit of a pain, it should be in the interest of the IT department to increase data security at a fairly low price point.

Alternatively, bypassing most of the security gained through 2FA, there are online services which offer phone number as a subscription, digitally. These digital phone numbers could be used for HubSpot 2FA.

Neither is ideal, I empathize. But it doesn’t seem like HubSpot is going to turn back on its decision to enforce 2FA.

Best regards!
