Currently, when global filters are applied to a HubSpot dashboard, the filters are applied uniformly across all reports using the same object type, within the dashboard. While this is useful in many scenarios, it creates challenges when different reports need to maintain unique filtering logic while still being part of the same dashboard.
For example:
I have two reports on my dashboard that use a discount count for “Date entered”:
1. A report that shows the number of leads entering a “New Lead” stage.
2. A report that tracks leads entering “Unable to Service” stage.
Both reports have filters applied at the report level to reflect data specific to their context. However, when I apply global filters (e.g., date range filters for “Entered New Stage” & “Entered Unable to Service Stage”) on the dashboard, these filters are applied to all reports indiscriminately. This leads to skewed data in reports that are supposed to operate with unique filtering logic.
I want the “date entered new stage” to overwrite the report filter of the same type.
I want the “date entered unable to service stage” to overwrite the report filter of the same type.
I do not want both filters to be applied to both reports, like they currently do.
Challenges:
• Global filters overwrite report-level filters, disrupting the intended data presentation.
• There’s no built-in mechanism to selectively apply global filters to specific reports on the dashboard.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce the ability to manage global filters on a per-report basis. This feature could include Filter Groups: Enable users to create “filter groups” where certain global filters apply only to selected reports on the dashboard.
Another solution could be allowing us to use an OR statement instead of AND when using multiple filters on a dashboard, just like you can in a report.
