Customizing "log activity" in HubSpot CRM

I agree… I need personalize the activity with chat messaning from Whatsapp o text messages systems.

Yes please! I am replying to any thread that relates to this because we didnt realize it did not do this and we just purchased Hubspot sales. It seems crazy that this would not be an option to customize these options as literally every business works so differently. Even if you have one field that is not editable (in this case outcomes), add another field that is just customizable similar to custom contact properties. There is nothing customizable at all about the acitivty logging which seems very rigid. What if someone wants to assign the task to a specific campaign or product line. This is an option on marketing side so its seems odd that this would not be a consideration for sales especially in the era of marrying sales and marketing. Please consider for being a top priority! Oh and this editable/customizable option should integrate with salesforce :slightly_smiling_face:

We would like to be able to add our own custom task types to the Sales Task tool, in addition to Call, Email, To-Do. for example,: Voicemail, Web Meeting, etc.

We agree, it would be very useful indeed!

How many votes do we think it takes to make this a reality?

For everyone who has commented and upvoted this idea - please also do it on another thread that has more upvotes etc.

Custom Activities Are A Must For HubSpot

Totally agree with all the points raised above. This functionality is especially important in a post COVID-19 world where many organisations will be changing their processes and require customisation across activities (meetings, call, tasks)

A great example would be the addition of different tasks types like; “video meeting”, “create quote”, “follow-up quote” etc.

Custom Activity Types Allocated To Specific Users or Teams

To further the idea, customised activity types should be allocated to various “team views” or specific users.

For example, a custom task type for our Sales Team could be “Create quote”. Our Project Management Team (who manage a deal once it is “won”) will never use this task type. Instead, they can have their own bespoke suite of tasks types that could include “Complete construction site Health & Safety documentation” or “Order & send product to construction site”.

For Enterprise CRM users particularly, this level of functionality is a must to ensure the platform continues to suit our diverse business needs.

Cheers,

Craig

Being able to customize Task Type, similar to Call & Meeting Types, would have enormous benefits from a tracking and reporting perspective - particularly for things scheduled in the future. Here’s a simple use case: Salesperson needs to create a proposal next week for a new prospect so they add a Task with a Type called “Proposal” and a due date of next week. The Sales Manager has a widget on their dashboard to track “Number of Proposals by Rep/Week” that would filter for this Task Type. Then they would be able to see both proposals that were completed for a specified time period (last week/month/quarter) and propsals scheduled for a future time period (next week/month/quarter). This could apply to an infinate number of different Task Types to track common sales activities.

Our sales team is prospecting across all the main channels: phone email & social; though the only options to log activity against are call, email and meeting.
Adding Social (LinkedIn etc) would give the reps the ability to log that specific activity and management will be able to report on the effectiveness of it alone and combined with other channels

It would be great if they could ad “text message” as an option as well!

+1 for Text message option

I concur! We need to have TEXT as a follow up activity as this is an extremely frequent activity with our teams. Direct Mail would be excellent as well.

NOTE: sales pro only allows the second level of activity to be customized (the call type)

mitchellkp you actually need sales enterprise to customize this as we learned when we bought sales pro and still didnt have the functionality. This is such a basic need of any sales organization and agree that it should be more accessible to the lower tiers of Husbpot sales. I know for us enterprise is way over the top in terms of functionality for what we do and we don’t need anything more than pro. This should at least be part of sales pro if not part of free version as its so basic and necessary for every company.

@cbartlett we have enterprise and this still isn’t an option for us unfortunately. Seems like a quick and easy fix for Hubspot to add in.

@bsusan thats so surprising because we were told that it was an option if we upgraded… again. I agree! hopefully we can get them to implement soon!

I’d also really like this to be available ASAP please. We want to be able to register event attendance, webinar attendance, direct mail sends as different activities and then be able to report on these. Are you able to update please on when this will be available? I’d be happy to test as well.

we need a way to be able to add any and all “behaviors” and “outcomes” somewhere in the Sales Tool and then be able to report on them daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to manage sales activities.

Behaviors include anything that the Sales person controls; dials, leave messaage (vm or with receptionist), email, text, Inmail, Viewed LI profile, Requested LI connection, Requested Introduction (and/or referral), Sent TY Card

Outcomes could include: Connection (phone conversation, text exchange, email exchange), Agreed to Introduction, Introduction Completed, Appointment, Sent Proposal

The current Log Activity of Log Call, Log Email and Log Meeting is too limiting to properly assess behaviors and outcomes to help manage sales activities

This is basic functionality in SFDC to define activities. It makes the CRM more relevant and reflects the company’s tactics and activities across sales and marketing and support.

It also enables HubSpot CRM to be used as an ABM tracking and reporting tool.

This is probably the biggest thing keeping us from switching from Pipedrive to HubSpot. Ultimately, we would love to track what activities (email, direct mail, tradeshows, etc..) lead to revenue. The ability to add these custom activity types would be AMAZING!
