Customize number of emails allowed to be sent a day

Within HubSpot we are allowed to send up to 1000 emails a day. It would be very help to be able to change that to a lower number. Just because HubSpot allows it, does not mean Gmail does. Gmail would flag your account as spam and so therefore sending 1000 would not be good. I suggest having at least the options of 100, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 or even better be able to manually write in a max of how many a company would like their employees to send.

We want to decrease the total number of 1:1 emails we send via HS/day so as to ensure even more that we are not exhibiting spammer-like activity.

Currently the limit appears to be set to 500 email sends/day/user. We would like to adjust it down to say, 100 email sends/day/user so it’s easy for users to know when they are hitting lower limits and adjust (eg, when enrolling in sequences, etc).

It would also be nice to be able to see how many 1:1 emails are queued up to send in the future, preferably by user, team, date range, etc.

Yes I would love to have this feature! Double “Up Vote”!!

Can we please have the option to set preffered limits to the number of emails we send out in a sequence?

For example, we enroll 1000 contacts in a sequence and we want to be able to limit the number of daily emails sent in this sequence to 50 per day.

That would help a lot to discover what works and doesnt work in a campagne before sending out the whole batch.

Couldn’t agree more.

This is urgently required to prevent email accounts being suspended too

Absolutely needs implementing, especially with Gmail adding further measures, resulting in more domains being blocked.

The send frequency cap functionality doesn’t apply to sales emails. My concern is particularly with emails sent via sequences! Currently there is no way for a rep to exclude data based on . The only way to do this is via workflows, which our reps don’t have access too. I’d love the email frequency cap functionality to be expanded with the option to include emails sent via sequences.

I am shocked this is not available. A competing tool has this functionality at the org level, user level and sequence level. I expect the same to be available in HubSpot. Please make this available for your customers!

Totally agree with this - “Just because HubSpot allows it, does not mean Gmail does” - would be great to have this feature.

This is necessary. @hubspot please respond to this. We need to have the capability to send fewer automated emails. This is critical and is a standard function with sequencing platforms.

Presently, HubSpot caps the daily email limit that one user can send at 5,000 emails/day. As an agency that is continuously informing our contacts of new partnership opportunities for different brands, that number is a bit excessive and there’s no way to restrict it to a lower amount. We would ideally like to ensure that no more than 50 emails are going out from one user/email address and that contacts who are unable to be enrolled in a sequence one day are enrolled the next which isn’t possible in HubSpot currently.

I completely agree with this suggestion! It would be beneficial to have the ability to limit the number of emails sent out in a day. Additionally, it would be helpful if we could also set a limit on how many emails go out in an hour. For instance, if we usually send out 100 emails per day, it would be great to be able to set a limit such as sending 5 emails per hour, randomly distributed

Workflow send frequency cap is only available for Enterprise but it was more on the ability to limit the emails received by the recipient.

Who is the feature for? This feature is primarily designed for sales teams and individuals within an organization who utilize HubSpot’s Sales Hub for email outreach and follow-up sequences.

What is their goal? The primary goal for these teams and individuals is to efficiently manage their email outreach within set limits to prevent email account suspensions due to exceeding daily send limits. This is crucial for maintaining compliance with both internal communication policies and external regulatory requirements, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of their email campaigns.

What value will this add? Implementing a user-level daily email send limit will provide several key benefits:

  • Compliance Assurance: Helps ensure that sales teams adhere to internal and external email-sending regulations, reducing the risk of email account suspensions.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Simplifies the management of multiple email sequences by automatically enforcing daily send limits, making it easier for users to plan and execute their outreach strategies without manually tracking email counts.
  • Improved Email Deliverability: By preventing over-sending, this feature aids in maintaining a healthy sender reputation, which is crucial for email deliverability and campaign success.

Are there examples of other places or products that have this feature? Many email service providers (ESPs) and marketing automation platforms include global send limits or account-level sending thresholds to prevent spamming and maintain sender reputation. For example, Mailchimp and SendGrid offer account-level settings to manage sending limits, providing a safeguard against excessive email sends. Incorporating a similar feature within HubSpot’s Sales Hub, specifically tailored for sales sequences, would align HubSpot with these best practices in digital marketing and sales communication.

Hi everyone! I’m pleased to share that this is in development right now. I’ll post again when we have a Beta available.

This is good news. Thank you HubSpot team!

We need to align the number of mails sent per day from sequences on our internal limitations based on new Google policy.

Otherwise Hubspot mails using our mail server trigger an alert and Google blocklist us for 3 hours.

We can currently send 500 and we need a parameter to reduce to 100 or 200 max

Hi @hroberts and HS team, is there any update about this? Thanks.

Hi @TDeRosa! The team is still working on it and making good progress. I’ll be posting here as soon as the beta is available :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello !!!
I 100% want to have access to this as soon as possible in the beta version
How can I make sure I get access to this feature?
Any news @hroberts ?
