Hi,
I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to create a custom property on the company page that displays a URL linking to our company admin. The goal is to have a non-editable link positioned on either the left or right side of the page.
The link format should be as follows:
http://acme.com/{{domaine.name}}
Is this possible to implement?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Hi @rickgoz,
If you want it to be non-editable, there would be two approaches:
- Create a custom calculation property using the concat method, explained here: Create calculation and rollup properties (you would simply concatenate static text and properties to construct your link) - the outcome would not be editable by default.
- (Enterprise only) Use a custom workflow that re-enrolls records when the building blocks of your URL are known (e.g. “Domain name is known”), then use the “Set property value” workflow action to set a custom single-line text property value with your desired text format. You can use personalization tokens here as well. To make this non-editable, you would make the property view-only: Manage view and edit access for properties
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
Hey @rickgoz
Regardless of how the information in the link is composed (manually or automated)
the only way to have a read-only property
is with the Enterprise licenses as Karten tells you
in order to be able to set different access to properties.
Another option is to create the link in a property that is not not visible/displayed
and then have a new sync property (that is view only/not editable by default)
shown in the left column of a record.
Here is more info about the sync properties
hope this helps
