Hi. I’ve got a hubspot landing page with a form in it. I have created a custom thank you page on the form. It is displaying fine if I go to the standalone form. But it doesn’t appear when I fill out the form on the landing page. Instead, I just get the generic “Thanks for submitting the form”.
Any ideas why that might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @KateReynier
What do you mean when you say “created a custom thank you page on the form”?
You linked to a thank you page here:
Have you published those changes so the form on the landing page is updated?
Have you embed this form on a HubSpot Lading Page or external landing page?
If it is a HubSpot Landing Page you can always override at lanfing page level what should happen, so I would check there too - see screenshot below:
I hope that helps.

Hi - thanks for your quick response.
I figured out that the thank you message setting in the form can be
overridden by the thank you message setting on the Hubspot page.
That setting is visible when you scroll quite far down on the left hand
side when editing the Hubspot page. I just had to update the message there
as well.
Thanks again!
Your custom thank you message isn’t displaying correctly on your HubSpot landing page when users fill out the form. Instead, they see the default “Thanks for submitting the form” message. This issue may stem from factors such as incorrect form redirect settings, embedding errors, caching problems, conditional logic, or testing methods. Ensure proper configuration, test as a regular visitor, and consider seeking support from HubSpot’s resources for further assistance if the issue persists.
What if you want to inherit the success message from the form’s default, not at the local page level? Any idea?
This functionality has created a bit of confusion in my organization as well. When a form is called in to a landing page, I’d think the ideal behavior would be:
- The landing page automatically pulls in the thank-you message that’s saved in the form settings.
- The user has an option to override that message (via a button or toggle switch) with a thank-you message that’s customized only for that specific page — but by default, the landing page always displays the thank-you message from the form.
I’d be interested to know if HubSpot has considered implementing this behavior.
Totally agree, seems like an implied behavior that is missing and causing gaps.
