Hello HubSpot Community,
I am using a HubSpot Free account. I permanently deleted an unused custom Deal property after confirming that it had zero usage and a 0% fill rate.
The Deal Properties page now shows Archived (0), but my account still displays “You’ve used 10 out of 10 custom properties,” and the Create property button remains disabled.
I have already refreshed the page, signed out and back in, and waited several hours, but the deleted property slot has not been released. HubBot indicated that this may be an account-level usage sync issue.
Is there a way to trigger a recalculation of the custom property limit, or could a HubSpot employee review the account state and release the deleted slot?
Thank you.
This is a known class of Free-tier sync lag, not you missing a button. The UI can clear Archived while the entitlement counter still thinks the slot is used.
What usually works, in order:
-
Confirm the property is gone from Settings → Properties → Deal properties, including the Archived filter. If anything is still sitting in Archived, permanently delete again from there (recycle bin retention can hold the slot).
-
Check you did not recreate a property with the same internal name. Internal name collisions sometimes keep the counter weird even when the label looks free.
-
Hard refresh / different browser is weak here, but wait a full overnight cycle once. HubBot’s “usage sync” note is real; some portals free the slot hours later without action.
-
If it is still 10/10 after 24h with Archived = 0: open a Free support / Community moderator path with Portal ID + the deleted property’s internal name + screenshot of the 10/10 banner. This usually needs an internal recalculation, not another UI trick.
Workaround so you are not blocked: temporarily reuse an existing unused Deal property (rename label, clear options, document the internal name) instead of creating a net-new one until the counter drops.
If you can share roughly how long since the permanent delete (hours vs days), easy to say whether to keep waiting or escalate now.
