Custom meeting properties management (bulk update & activity card customization)

Beta: Meetings index page and custom meeting properties

Really excited about being able to use custom meeting properties for reporting, it opens up a lot of new possibilities.

But in practice, it’s really hard to use at scale:

  • I wanted to categorize past meetings using custom properties, but we have over 5,000 meetings. There’s no way to update them in bulk, so we’d have to update each meeting manually, which makes the feature unusable for historical data.
  • Also, if I want to enforce a custom field (like “custom meeting types” or “custom meeting sources”), there’s no way to make those properties visible on the activity card when logging or scheduling a meeting from a contact/company/deal. So users never see it, and it doesn’t get filled in.

Having bulk editing + visibility on the meeting activity card would make a huge difference and really allow teams to adopt custom meeting properties in their processes

+1 to custom properties on the “log a meeting” activity card. The ability to have custom meeting properties is a nice step forward, but until we’re able to utilize them in place of the default properties, it’s not helping much!

Hi!

I’m Melissa and I’m the Product Manager on the Meetings tool!

I totally agree with this feedback. We are very excited to finally have a meetings index page and support for custom properties in beta, but there are definitely some things that we want to add to that beta to provide a complete experience. The ability to bulk edit from the index page and the ability to set custom properties outside of just the index page are both on that list!

I don’t have a timeline that I can share on these additions just yet, but just know that I’ll be keeping this post up to date with progress that we make and we do intend to make these enhancements before we move out of beta.

@MParham Any update on this one?
We have several use cases for this.
We can create custom properties, but there’s no way to actually view or edit them… either when creating or editing the meeting.
There’s no value in being able to access those properties in a report if we can’t actually input data.

The meeting index view is also critically required.
Currently we can only use reports to view multiple meetings, and need to click into each one to edit.
Very painful for our Sales leaders.
