# Custom filter rules in Segments and Workflows

It would make filters much more flexible to have the custom filter rules option (which is already available in Reporting) available in Segments and Workflows.

Even though we now have the ability to group filters in Segments, it is limited.

For example, we are unable to easily do a filter like

1 AND ((2 AND 3) OR 4)

Currently, the only way to do such a filter would be

1 AND ((2 AND 4)) OR ((3 AND 4))

Real-world example:

Number of open deals = 0

AND

Company last contacted 30-90 days ago OR never contacted

Here is what it should look like to have the most intuitive logic/filter grouping:

With this, the overall goal of the filter is not immediately obvious, and the filters get confusing the more of these types of filter rules there are.
