Custom Field for User's Client

Any suggestions for best practices for adding a custom field on contacts for the name of the business that invited a user to join our platform (the user’s client)?

I’m going through my old templates and in most of the ones sent to Vendors who use our platform, I use their Client name (the client who invited them to our platform) at least once (if not several times) throughout the email -- so that the Vendor knows we are doing this so they can get paid by that Client. It doesn’t make sense to put this info in Company Name because these Vendors often have their own Company Name.

At some point, when we add email automation, i’ll need this field.

Hi @cxo

For all referral fields I would add in a naming convention - so if you are creating a contact for a referral you would create the contact using standard fields and then create fields called “referred by-Comapany name”. The opposite is also possible. You can add a field for “contact name-referral”, “Company name referral”. One Marketing Pro and above you can then use this information to create a new contact for the referral contact. Essentially you would create a naming convention for the referral information and this would be clearly visible when choosing the personalisation token.
