Custom email footer not recognised for publication

I have created an email for automation that requires a custom footer for compliance information.

The system doesn’t recognise it as a footer, despite using the “edit footer” dialogue.

When I try to start from scratch, it will only recognise the default footer, but when I select custom, I get the error message again.

What can I do?

Hi @ktraver,

HubSpot requires certain tokens with the company information to be present in the footer. Simply spelling them out as plain text does not work. Have you kept those tokens in there?

You can see the tokens here:

As long as you keep these tokens in your custom footer, HubSpot should accept it. If you remove it and spell out something new, it’s expected behavior that HubSpot doesn’t let you publish the email, see also here: Edit email footer addresses

Best regards

Thanks Karsten! I have had to remove all the tokens because we require a different company name and address as it’s our US HQ, not UK (default). What can I do about the tokens without impacting any UK emails?

@ktraver that’s a Marketing Hub Enterprise feature (don’t shoot the messenger). Edit email footer addresses

Without this feature, you cannot have two footers setup, unfortunately. You can try and trick HubSpot by changing the font colors of the required tokens (which I find unprofessional, should someone discover this) or create a footer that highlights one address as the main one and simply plain text above it for the relevant location.

In other words: It’s not possible to change the footer address on a per-email-basis in subscriptions that are not Marketing Hub Enterprise.

I see! Thank you so much, really helpful Karsten.
