Hi Everyone. Has anyone tried to create a goal in HubSpot that tracks different dates from their standard fiscal year? I’m trying to create a new Goal in HubSpot to track the amount won per rep against their targets from 11/30-12/1. Otherwise, we are on a calendar year. I created a new custom goal with that date range, and the reports have blown up.
One of the reps’ targets is correctly documented here:

 ![candijsmith_0-1772127933349.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/7/748e71beb03febb29cc6a89dfafc164def36c979.png)

But when viewing that reps’ progress, the goal is $0. The amount won is displayed.

![candijsmith_1-1772128026649.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/f/fabb3b2162b38903790e472919c925fd3b250b83.png)

Then, the Total Progress report in Goals shows all reps have won $0. It does include their total target amount:

 ![candijsmith_3-1772128424080.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/7/e/7e9b4c18a7eca5939c5a372a08661e3658d9f709.png)

Aside from the dates, all other filters are the same as in our standard calendar year goals. Does anyone know how to fix this and make these usable?

Thanks!
Candace

Hi @candijsmith
This is a known frustration with HubSpot’s custom goals when you set date ranges that don’t align with the standard calendar or fiscal year. Based on your screenshots, your targets are correctly assigned (the 1,932,000 for Dec 1 to Nov 30 looks right), but HubSpot is reporting $0 in goal progress even though deals have clearly been won. That usually points to a date field mismatch between how your goal is configured and which date property HubSpot is using to evaluate whether a deal falls within that window.

The first thing I’d check is which date property your goal is using to measure “amount won.” HubSpot goals typically look at the Close Date on deals, so if your reps closed deals in that Dec 1 to Nov 30 range but the goal is evaluating against a different property (like Create Date or some custom date field), it won’t pick them up. Also, make sure the goal’s “tracking method” is set to the correct deal property for revenue, usually amount or hs\_closed\_amount\_in\_home\_currency depending on your setup. HubSpot’s documentation on setting up goals covers the property mapping in detail ([Create custom goals](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-custom-goals) )

Another thing that trips people up is that when you define a custom date range like Dec 1 to Nov 30, HubSpot sometimes struggles with how it rolls up monthly or quarterly progress within that window, especially if your pipeline currency settings or deal stage filters don’t match exactly.

One workaround I’ve seen teams use when custom goal date ranges behave inconsistently is to create a separate custom report outside of the Goals tool that filters deals by close date within your Dec 1 to Nov 30 range, grouped by owner, and measured against a custom property where you store each rep’s target. Its not as clean as the native Goals feature but at least the numbers will be accurate while you sort out the goal configuration. If this keeps happening I’d also recommend reaching out to HubSpot support directly with your goal ID and the correlation between your deal close dates and the goal window, because there have been bugs reported around non standard fiscal year goals that sometimes require backend fixes on their end.

Thank you both. The goal is set up based on Close Date and Amount in company currency. I’ll reach out directly to HubSpot.

I am having the same issue (albeit with a Calls Made goal). The activity count in the Goals reporting is correct, but Goal Progress is 0%. I am wondering if Goals is struggling to capture retroactive data?

I’ll just be making a report instead, but it seems like something isn’t working with the functionality.
