Cumulative percentages in our quotes.

Hello everyone, we are facing an issue with creating cumulative percentages in our quotes. We often sell Development hours with a quality assurance percentage added on. Then, we apply a project management percentage on the subtotal of Development hours plus the quality assurance percentage. Does anyone have an idea how we can incorporate this into our quotes? Thanks a lot.

You can calculate a cumulative percentage and add the QA% and PM% to get the cumulative percentage. This cumulative percentage represents the total additional cost (in terms of percentage) added on top of the base development hours.

We would like to display this on a per-line basis in our quote to provide a more transparent view.

Our project management percentage always applies to the subtotal of development hours plus a percentage of quality assurance. As a result, the amount for project management differs from when creating a cumulative percentage for project management and QA. To illustrate, below are two calculations, with the second situation being the one we aim to achieve.

Situation 1: without a subtotal
Development hours: 100
Quality Assurance: 20%
Project Management: 20%
Total: 140 hours

Situation 2: with a subtotal:
Development hours: 100
Quality Assurance: 20%
Subtotal: 120
Project Management: 20%
Total: 144 hours

Are there any possibilities to achieve situation 2 in HubSpot?

Hi @IMunsterman,
Interesting question. Do you need to store the “quality assurance percentage” as a Custom Property in the HubSpot record? Or does it only need to exist on the quote? Depending on the answer, I think I have a solution for you.
