Critical feature missing - search within Mobile Phone Number field

Hi HubSpot Devs, I have just discovered that the global search feature is somewhat lacking, and very much not global throughout the contact data.

I, like many other users, need the ability to search for a contact by either PHONE NUMBER or MOBILE PHONE NUMBER, so that incoming or missed calls can be quickly mapped against a contact stored within HubSpot.

I have scanned through various historic posts about that within the community forum, and even noted a HubSpot Moderator advising that “No, this still isn’t possible. I’m not aware of any plans to implement this in the near future, though it’s on the product team’s radar.” - This was in January 2018 and yet it’s still not possible to find a contact by mobile number.

Please HubSpot, this really is a critical, basic feature of any database or CRM application.

Can you please add this as a priority feature request to be implemented ASAP?

Aside from my own usage, I run a Cloud Hosted VoIP telecoms company, and some of our customers are on the lookout for a great CRM - I personally love HubSpot in both Chrome browser desktop mode and via the app on my iPhone, but when it comes to deploying a slick ‘screen-popping’ contacts requirement, HubSpot is falling behind the competition… By implementing the ability to conduct a search query from within all contact and company telephone number fields, you will make HubSpot eminently more desirable to companies that integrate their communications platform with their CRM.

UPDATE:

Having spent some time testing, I have found that a search query carried out in the very top right search bar does find a number within the mobile phone number property, even though a search performed in the main contact search box (Search name, phone, email addresses or company) does not.

The number to be searched for must still be formatted EXACTLY as stored, including the +44 if applicabe, so it will not find just the last six digits for example. Nonetheless, this is now useful.

So instead of using: https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/1234567/contacts/list/view/all/?query={{number}}

Try the global search: https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/1234567/contacts/list/view/all/?globalSearchQuery={{number}}

N.B. replace ‘1234567’ above with your HubSpot account number, and the query will work.
