# Creating Call Tasks from data import

We have a data set of potential customers that we are going to import into HubSpot. I need to create tasks to call each of these for our sales team to pickup.

Is there a way to create the tasks automatically during import or manually in HubSpot.

I have looked at importing them and then filtering on contacts and creating a view, selecting the contacts, and then creating a task but you can only do that on a single page of contacts which is 100 contacts whereas we have multiple pages of contacts.

Hi @harrydn51,

Have you considered importing tasks? You can find sample files and instructions here: [Format import files](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/set-up-your-import-file#sample-import-files)

With a Professional subscription, you can also create tasks automatically with a contact-based workflow. In a free CRM or Starter subscription, it’s importing and bulk creation (in batches) from the contact index page.

Thanks Karsten I actually just came across this after I posted the question! I think this will work for new contacts - I will give it a go.

For contacts already in the system is there a way to do this without being limited to only 100 contacts at a time?

Hi @harrydn51,

During imports, HubSpot will automatically deduplicate by email address. It depends on the import file but usually one should be able to repeat the import of contacts and this time make it a multiple object import with tasks.

For the bulk editing feature, no, it doesn’t seem to be possible. You would need a Professional subscription.
