When I’m creating a new task the due date is often 3, 6 or 12 months away. It would be useful to have these options available from the drop-down without having to enter a custom date every time.

Tricky because I guess everyone wants different things. The predefined delays are probably considered the most popular or effective.
However, perhaps HubSpot could make these customisable in the settings, similar to how we can configure the social posting times or meeting availability.
I suggest you post this over in the ideas forum and see if there is interest in it.
