Hello,
I have connected my Hubspot to my Instapage landing page.
I am able to do a form submission and have the user create a contact with a name and email combo. Works great and without fail.
I now seek to do a test to see if I ask for their mobile and name,to compare form conversion rates.
- However, the mobile and name combo does not create a contact on form submission
Do you happen to know how to overcome this without doing random email address?
Thanks
Damon
Good day Damon,
Not sure if I understand the question entirely, perhaps a Loom or screenshots would help.
But to provide context on identifiers/ contact creation on the CRM.
The unique identifier for HubSpot is an email address. If a contact is stored in the system with an email address, the next time a form submission/ sync happens, HubSpot will take that as the identifier.
Without the email address, I do not think HubSpot can identify an existing contact.
Now, in terms of creating contacts without an email address. This is possible, nevertheless, if the contact/leads re-submits the form, next time with an email address, there will be a duplicate.
Also, there is a new feature “unique value property” (beta for deals, tickets and custom objects only). This may help you ahead. > link.
- Custom property that requires unique values (companies, deals, tickets, and custom objects only): if you’ve created a property that requires unique values, you can use the property as a unique identifier in your import files.
