# Create a sensitive email field

Hi there,

I need to create a sensitive email field. I already have a legacy not-sensitive email field that is used for some workflows. The issue is, when I try to create a new field, there’s no “Email” type available.

The simplest solution seems to just use a text field and validate it on my side, but I am fully for consistent and official solutions and that’s not a preferable solution.

Is there a better way to create a second email field that will be used to identify contacts and will be sensitive?

Hi @AlekseiM,

You’re correct, this does not currently exist in that exact form. There is no email field type in HubSpot which you could use for a new field. The next best option would be a single-line text field with field validation: [Set validation rules for a property](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/set-validation-rules-for-properties) (there is a validation beta that supports regex which you should be able to use to check for correct email syntax)

If you want a field that is also considered by HubSpot as an email field but can be made sensitive, I’d recommend requesting this in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community, reviewed by the product team: [https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot\_Ideas](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas)
