Cost per meeting

I need to create an Ads report to show me some metrics as total bookings, show rate and specially cost per booking through the ads. How to do that ? I tried combining the Ads perfomance sources with meeting sources but once I have chosen the Ads performance as a primary source in hubspot custom report builder it by default blocked choosing any other data source. Is there any workaround to make reports that shows cost per meeting through the ads

Hi @HAhmed57 and a big warm welcome to the HubSpot Community!
Great question, thanks for asking!
Currently, when you choose Ad performance metrics as your primary data source, you can only combine it with ad-related properties, not with event sources like Meetings.
So, reporting on a true “cost per meeting/booking” in a single custom report isn’t supported yet.
Here are some resources on the topic:
- Report on ad campaigns using the custom report builder
- Analyze your campaign’s contact lifecycle stage metrics
- Create marketing goals
That said, I’d love to put you in touch with our Top Experts: Hi @danmoyle, @trevordjones and @Josh can you think of a workaround to help @HAhmed57, please?
Thanks so much and have a brilliant day!

Hello @HAhmed57 and thanks for the tag @BérangèreL !

There are a few workarounds for this:

  1. If you have access to Data Studio, you can bring both Ad Performance Metrics and Meetings into a Dataset, and build your reporting from the dataset.
  2. You can use Campaigns to act as a bridge between Meetings and Ads Performance Metrics, since it will show the total spend on an ad campaign. You can use this number to calculate the ad cost per meeting. Limitations of this are:
    1. It won’t let you report down to the ad level, only the campaign level.
    2. It would also be problematic if you used Campaigns to track non-ad expenses.

If the limitations aren’t a problem for you, though, option 2 can get you what you need without purchasing Data Hub.

I hope one of these is helpful for you!

@trevordjones but when I use custom report with campaign as primary source I can not find the campaign from the connected meta account although I can find it in Ads analytics

That’s true, and it’s why planning the UTM structure in advance is critical.

If your UTM campaign for the Meta ads aligns with the UTM campaign of your HubSpot campaign, you’ll be able to make the connection.

Welcome to the Community @HAhmed57! I’m in alignment with @trevordjones here. I’d suggest using HubSpot Campaigns to bridge ad spend and meetings. You should be able to associate Meta ads traffic with HubSpot Campaigns using matching UTM campaign names (like UTM utm_campaign=meta_summer2026), then report total campaign spend divided by associated meetings. This works at campaign level (not ad level) and assumes no non-ad expenses on those campaigns. And campaign bridging fails without UTM alignment as you’re seeing and Trevor confirmed. For a more granular ad-level you may need to upgrade to Operations Hub or use external BI tools; test with sample data to validate joins. There’s also a funky workaround of importing CSV data. Export Meta spend/bookings monthly, import to HubSpot custom object, report from there. Kind of a pain, but might work.

Hope that helps!
