I am stuck in creating a workflow.
We have 3 properties

- Deal Stage

- Current Deal Stage (Custom)

- Previous Deal Stage (Custom)

If the Deal Stage / Current Deal Stage updated, I want the previous value to be copy and input in the “Previous Deal Stage” property

Is this possible?

Hi @JQuijano,

Not without custom code actions (available in Operations Hub Professional or Enterprise) and the help of a developer, no. Out of the box, I’m not aware of a way to set up a workflow accordingly. Some workarounds are delay-based - but that still means that the field wouldn’t hold the previous value indefinitely.

Simply checking the property history is not an option? [View a record's property history](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/view-record-property-history#view-historical-values-for-a-property-on-a-record)

Best regards

Hi Karsten,
Thank you for the quick response. I think I found a workaround. Check the image attached

@JQuijano what exactly are the filter criteria? Assuming it’s “has ever been any of”, the outcome might not be accurate as the record will not necessarily go down the branch of the last value.

To trigger the workflow, should be the required pipeline and deal stage updated in the last 0 days.
Then the branch will check the current stage. Once met, the “Previous Property” will set to “chosen” deal stage
So it is not really copying the last value.
Also, this is only applicable for a Pipeline if your rules for Deal Stage “revert restriction”
Apology if my questions are incomplete at the first place
