copy/paste two column

Hi,

Is there a simplified way to copy/paste the content of one column into another column? (without having to do it manually cell by cell?)

Hi @ASavoye,

No, unfortunately not. If you’re not on a Professional or Enterprise subscription*, you’re best option is to export these records and re-import them. During the re-import, you can simply map the exported column to the target property.

For example: Let’s assume you you have property A and B and want to copy from A to B. You would export your contacts where A is known. Once you re-import these contacts, simply map the column of A to property B.

During re-import, I’d recommend mapping the record ID. The record ID will be present in your export file and is the most reliable option for updating existing contacts.

* With the help of workflows and the ‘Copy property value’ workflow action, this can be done directly in HubSpot.

Best regards

PS. If it’s only one value, then bulk editing is the fastest option.

Hi @karstenkoehler

Thank you for your help ! I’m going to try this !

Hey @ASavoye

if you are talking about copying values from one property to another one in the Contacts view

you can it in bulk by selecting various contacts view the same value for property A

and then use the assign feature in the menu and set Property B to value X.

You can also try 3rd party apps like Zapier to implement automations to do this (specially if its a one time thing)

And off course you can always re-import the information to set up the proper value in both properties.

Hope this helps

Hi @Lucila-Andimol,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, the two columns I want to copy/paste is Property A = Linkedin Url to another property B = LinkedinURL.

That mean that each value is different and can be assign to one and only one contact.

What could you advise me ?

Thank you very much !

Hey @ASavoye

In that case if its a one time only copy paste

I’d do it manually

or with Zapier.

And in the future I’d keep only 1 of those properties for a more efficient portal (as they seem to have the same information).

Hope this helps

I agree with you that it would be much more efficient to have one colomn only but I have no choice (for reasons of compatibily between dux-soup and lemlist…). I already do it manually but when I scrapp 100 contacts in once… it is a little bit long to copy/paste one by one… That’s why I asked you if you knew another quicker solution :slightly_smiling_face:
