hello,
I created a unique property [unformatted_phone] as a unic value to handle the duplications in my data base.
Currently, I only have the phone number with +33 etc completed.
I would like to import a data base but make sure duplications are handled.
For that, I first need to feel the unformatted_phone column with the phone number. Is there a quick manipulation do to that?
Thank you
Hi @ElodieDel,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Could you please give us more details about your objective? I’d like to better understand the issue with duplicates to see if there’s an easier solution. Could you give me an example of these duplicates? Are they created because they lack the correct format? Because the field doesn’t exist in the forms? Or why exactly do these duplicates occur? Also, is your goal to clean up the duplicates? Or to import new numbers with the correct format? Any details and screenshots you can share about your objective would be very helpful.
Thanks!
Diana
Hello,
I have a back office where my clients and the companies details are saved, and I have Hubspot for CRM.
In Hubspot, initially, contacts only came from the forms online (contact form for leads, technical support form for clients).
From now, I would like to handle and save all clients interactions in Hubspot. To facilitate that job, and in the perpsective to delegate this job on the mid-term, I want to watch every night the new contacts (and companies) and contacts (and companies) updates which occured in the BO and sync them with Hubspot (in contacts and companies)
To start from a fresh base I synchronized all my BO to hubspot this weekend.
Previously I created a personnalized column untitled [unformatted phone] in contact and [unformatted phonenumber] in company, which is an unformatted number of the phone number. I found the way to automatically copy and paste all phone numbers in unformatted phone.
But I realize now that it did not handled the duplicates at all. see screenshot. I can I merge contacts (and companies) to create a unique and complete record?
Hi @ElodieDel,
Thank you for the details and the screenshot.
Let’s check with some of our experts to see if they have any advice on achieving your objective.
Hello @Gilempert , @Lucila-Andimol, @JuanGomez0818 could you please take a look at this and let @ElodieDel know if there’s anything you would suggest?
Thank you!

Hello,
I already created the property unformatted_phone to handle duplications.
Th problem is that when a lead comes from a form, I get its formatted phone number in its contact form in Hubspot. And if later on he subscribes to my service online, when I sync my Back office with Hubspot I will fill its number in both format (unformatted and formatted). But i will not be able to identify the first contact form that was previously created for him. So I’d like to automatically fill the unformatted_phone column with the phone number from formatted_phone, it that possible?
Hi @ElodieDel !
It is possible if you have the workflow tool in HubSpot, it allows you to copy and paste properties. Here you can find more information: Compatible property types for copying values with workflows
Hope it helps!
