Portal ID: 51355490
Domain affected: www.rocketweave.com (self-hosted WordPress, not HubSpot CMS)
Issue: We have HubSpot’s cookie banner script embedded on our site (js-na2.hs-banner.com/v2/51355490/banner.js), along with a “Cookie Settings” button in the footer using HubSpot’s standard hs_show_banner_button id. Clicking this button no longer opens the cookie preferences banner - no modal, no error, no console output. It reportedly worked as recently as yesterday and stopped functioning today, with no changes made on our end to the embed code.
What we’ve checked on our side:
- The banner script and HubSpot tracking script (
hs-scripts.com) both load successfully (200/304 responses) - not a missing or broken file. -
- Clicking the button (both manually and via the DOM) triggers no visible response and adds no new elements to the page.
-
- In Settings > Data Privacy & Consent > Cookies, “Domains Connected to HubSpot” shows no data for our account.
-
- In Settings > Domains & URLs, the only connected domain is our system landing-page domain (
hs-sites-na2.com); our main site has never been added there, since it’s self-hosted.
- In Settings > Domains & URLs, the only connected domain is our system landing-page domain (
- Question: Does the HubSpot cookie banner require the domain to be formally “connected” in HubSpot (i.e., CMS-hosted or added under Domains & URLs) in order to render, even when the banner script is manually embedded via a script tag? If so, is there a way to register a non-HubSpot-hosted domain for banner configuration purposes only? If not, can anyone help identify why this stopped working today specifically?
- Goal: Restore the working “Cookie Settings” popup on our site, or get pointed to the correct setup for a self-hosted WordPress site using HubSpot’s cookie banner. Thanks in advance.
