Converting an email to HTML to share with a partner that will deploy

We have a partner that will be sending an email to their subscribers on our behalf. We need to create the email in HubSpot and then export it and provide it to them in HTML format. How do I do this?

Hi @MattMKT . It’s not currently possible to export email. You can upvote the idea here. It doesn’t guarantee it’ll happen, but it helps HubSpot know it’s a desired feature!

However there is a workaround someone shared:

Hey, there is a way round it… Go into your email manager, click more and view on your email.

Then when its in your browser (i use chrome) - click save as - and then chose HTML. Done and Done!

Thanks Danny but is there a way to do so without having to manually remove the Hubspot <div> tags and classes that are created from the HUBL templates?

Export Marketing Emails to PDF and HTML

What is it?

You can now export marketing emails as PDF or HTML files from the email editor or performance page, so you can easily share, review, and archive email designs.

Why does it matter?

Sometimes your email workflow extends beyond HubSpot. Now you’re covered:

  • Stakeholder reviews and approvals: Share email designs with executives, clients, or legal partners who don’t have HubSpot access — no screenshots or manual recreations required.
  • Compliance and recordkeeping: Archive an exact copy of what was sent to meet organizational or regulatory requirements.
  • Design reuse and handoff: Give developers or external teams the HTML they need to reference or reuse email code outside of HubSpot.

How does it work?

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Marketing Email.
  • Select a draft email and click Edit or create a new email.
  • Click File in the top nav panel > Export email design.
  • From the model you can specify:
    • File name
    • Send to Email address
    • File format: PDF (default) or HTML
    • Include Personalized Content and choose an example contact to preview email personalization within your export.

Based on your choice, a PDF or HTML file will be downloaded within your browser and a download link also sent to your specified email address.

Note:

  • You can also export an email from the email performance page by selecting Actions > Export email design.
  • If your email contains multiple A/B email versions. You will also be able to view and choose which A/B version you would like to export.
