Hi, I would like to suggest that Call Tasks have the ability to mimick Call Activites. I’m requesting this as I am using Sequences and have Call Tasks within my Sequences. I currently have to check off that I completed the Call Task and then log the Call Activity. It would be nice to be able to do it from one record. For example, when you open the Call Task, I would like to have the same selections as a Log Call (i.e. Call outcome, Direction, Time, etc.) and then once the Call Task is completed, it would be ideal to have it registered as a Call Activity/ Logged Call.
Otherwise, I have duplicated records between the Call Task and the Call Activity/ Logged Call. Since by default HubSpot flows all HubSpot Tasks & Activities into Salesforce as Tasks ONLY it also clogs up the Salesforce Activity View.
Also, just a quick comment - while queues may be a work around. They require extra steps and they do not alleviate the duplicity of record keeping between tasks and activities.
I can’t believe there’s not been more request for this. It would save us creating a duplicate Call activity as the sales team would only be required to complete the task and fill out the information once.
We are tracking our call effectiveness by filtering our reports by call outcome. Currently, if a call task is completed, there is no option to enter a call outcome. So those essential activities are not being counted.
I’m Ana, the product manager for sequences. We don’t currently have plans to convert call tasks to call activities. The task is meant to serve as a reminder to complete the activity, and the call activity itself is what should be tracked in reporting.
I’d suggest using task queues for speedier execution - as you click into a call task, it’ll automatically open the calling window for you to make the call, take notes, and log your outcome. When you save the call activity, you can “save and complete task” so you don’t need to update the task separately.
I appreciate you sharing the feedback and hope this suggestion helps.
