Please don’t go down the route of rewriting high-ranking articles, and always place value first.
Then, your site architecture matters. If you want visitors to stay on your website longer, make sure that your blog posts and website pages are interlinked, and after reading one article, a visitor knows what to do next, what other resources are available, etc.
