Hello, can anyone help, on a lot of our companies the contact name associated on some has dissapeared like the below.

The double hyphen -- is usually a sign that a field is empty, in this case that would apparently be the First name and Last name field of the associated contact.
To investigate if this field has always been empty or whether it was recently cleared by a tool or user, you can navigate to the contact record and click View property history in the left sidebar. You can then search for “name” and should see a history like this:
Fictional demo contact.
If you spot something in the history that doesn’t make sense, please report back.
