We have connected our info@- email address with the Hubspot inbox in order to answer enquiries from the inbox. Unfortunately there is always a lot of Spam which I “mark as spam” and close. I then have to manually click on the contact record to delete this from our Hubspot instance.
I am looking for a way to set a rule to automatically delete all contacts if we marked their email in the inbox as spam. Any ideas/best practices?
HubSpot doesn’t let you automatically delete contacts, it’s currently not an option in workflows. (Probably because it’s very risky.) The workaround would be to find a way to identify all of these contacts, collect them in a smart list for deletion, for example once a week.
As far as I can tell, clicking “Mark as Spam” in the inbox is not documented on the contact record. It’s just a cosmetic filter in your inbox. As an alternative, I would recommend marking contacts for deletion the right sidebar:
You can customize the contact section of the sidebar to include a custom property, for example “Spam contact (to be deleted)” as a radio select field with the options true/false. It would then be easy to create an active list filter for all contacts with the value true.
Hi Karsten, I have somewhat of a similar question, at the moment we’re reaching out to 1000s of people using hubspot and a lot of those emails are blocked by the recipients email firewall or marked as spam so i end up getting an email saying “your email could not be delivered”. How can i automatically delete those contacts i could not reach?
