Contact List w/Company Properties

Greetings!

Brand new to HubSpot and trying to create a list of contacts where the company IS NOT EQUAL TO [type] current customer. When I try to create this list, I only see [type] as a Contact property.

Can I create a cross-object list view? Or only in a report?

Thanks!

@ikopecky Do you have Company type specified as a Company Property also or just a Contact Property?
You can check by going to Settings>Properties>Change the dropdown to Company properties>Search for company type.
If it does exist could create the list with the following:

  • Navigate to Contacts>Lists>Create List> Choose Static or Active (up to you)
  • Add filter> Company Properties>Company Type> is not Equal to [type]

If the company property does not exist, you would need to create this property in the CRM and ensure the field type (dropdown select, multi-select, etc.) matches to the contact property that already exists.
From here, you would need to copy the object from one to another. (Make sure to think about where the source of truth data is.)
Alternatively, if there is only a contact property that specifies company type then you could build a Company-Based List and use the Company Type contact property as a filter instead.

Hi @ikopecky,

Under Menu > Contacts > Lists > Create list > Active list, you should see Company properties:

When you select this, you can set a filter for contacts which are associated with companies, matching the criteria you’re about to define:

Generally, the current customer status would be stored in the Lifecycle stage but for you this could be your own Current customer property.
