# Contact Deletions

Hi!  
I was planning to perform a bulk deletion/cleanup of my contacts. But I have my contacts with my custom properties filled in.  
So I wanted to confirm in order to delete these contacts (these contacts might be later added back not on restorable delete but with separate properties), should I be nullifying these custom properties first and then deleting them or can I delete them directly straightaway from CRM UI using Bulk Delete without any later consequences?

Hey @CDP2023,

You should be fine to delete these records, if you were to later add them these fields would not retain their current values. However, if you choose to [restore the record](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/restore-deleted-contacts-companies-deals-or-tickets), they would be retained.
