Considerations When Merging HubSpot portals

A few months ago I came across a document that my US colleague Kit Lyman put together and I fell in love with the layout. I piggybacked on her amazing resource and built it out to include all of the different elements that need to be taken into consideration when you are looking at merging multiple portals. Internally I have received great feedback from many different teams and I wanted to bring it to our customers!

You can check out the spreadsheet here >>select ‘file’ >> ‘Make a copy’ and update it as you see fit for your business needs. If you need some assistance in changing this resource to fit your business needs, you can always purchase some Inbound or Technical consulting as outlined here

There is now an app in the HubSpot App Marketplace called the HubSpot to HubSpot Portal Migrator.

This data migration tool automates to process of migrating data from one HubSpot portal to another. The app uses HubSpot APIs to automatically migrate CRM data from one HubSpot portal to another HubSpot portal.
This automated app is ready to migrate your data with no field mapping required. There is no need to manually create properties. The HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator automatically takes care of everything required for moving your HubSpot data from one portal to another.

This application migrates the following HubSpot data from one HubSpot portal into another:

    • Contacts
    • Companies
    • Contact Lists
    • Company Properties
    • Contact Properties
    • Custom Properties for all Objects
    • Deals
    • Deal Pipelines
    • Engagements (Meetings, Tasks, Notes, Calls, Emails)
    • Owners
    • Line Items/Products
    • Tickets
    • Files/Attachments
    • CRM Associations between all records

The HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator is designed to update the data in the destination portal. This eliminates duplicate contacts and minimizes duplicate data.
Use the Migrator to:
- Move data from an existing HubSpot portal to a new one
- Combines two existing portals into one
- Consolidate multiple portals into one

- Migrate data into a developer portal for testing purposes

Hi John

Thanks for post. Does your tool create the custom properties from the portal that has to be imported into the ongoing portal?

Br Morten

@MortenL Stepping in for John here. Yes! It will create custom properties from the source portal. You can review all the custom properties scenarios in the “Migrator functions” table on this page.

@Celmer93 thanks. It is a solution:-)

Don’t know how to mark as a solution.

Helpful information, thanks!
