Hello,
I’m having a bit of a problem as some problems as some of our clients have branches in 5 or more countries and because they have the same domain as the head office (as well as the emails domain for each contact although they are from a subsidiary), they are always associated with this company, which does not work for us, we need it to be for the branch. Is it possible?
Hi @MarieSH,
Yes, it’s possible.
You’ll need to set up the main company (domain) as a Parent company - Add a parent or child company to an existing company record
That KB article tells you how to add Child companies below, which can have the same domain, e.g. “McDonalds Restaurants”, then “McDonalds Restaurants, Washington”, etc. would all be “www.mcdonalds.com”.
If you want to leave the auto-associate contact based on domain setting turned on, you’ll need to remove the link with the parent company manually for each contact.
I’m sure there’s clever things that can be done using premium account features, but I don’t have these. For free/starter users like me, you learn to know which companies will be auto associated incorrectly, and force of habit leads you to correct them immediately. You could also set up dynamic lists to check for mis-associated contacts.
