Companies with multiple addresses/subsidiaries/conglomerates

Hi HS community,

Just wondering what everyone is doing or their best practice when handling a company with multiple addresses, subsidiaries or conglomerates. How are you storing this information in HS instead? Do you use the parent and child feature? create another object to identify the multiple address or simply create multiple company records?

It is annoying how there aren’t multiple addresses allowed under a company record.

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

I want to tag in some experts to our conversation.

Hi @Mike_Eastwood, @Aakar, @HubSpotMaster, @andrus - Do you have any thoughts or suggestions for @MLy1?

Thank you!

Best,

Hi @MLy1

With our clients we typically use the Parent–Child Company relationship. The aibility to have a Parent Company for billing and Child Companies for branches of the Company are useful.

Also, have a look at the new Assocation Labels - this is a game changer. This would allow you to link more than one Company to a Contact and assign them labels. e.g. if Company 1 is the “Head Office” you could keep that as the default “Primary Company” and then you could label another branch as “Deliveries” if that was the main delivery address.

And, you can easily add Custom Properties so your Companies have more than one address.

WARNING:

  • One gotcha - the Parent–Child Relationship will make merging duplicate companies impossible. You will have to remove the Parent–Child Relationship before you can merge duplicate Companies (you can always add the realtionship back after the merge).
  • Another gotcha - HubSpot de-duplicates Companies on domain name, so you may want to leave the domain name empty if you have multiple Companies as part of the same organisation.

Have fun

Mike
